How do I choose my Apple Mail email folder?

Post by martin »

When configuring InfoClick to search standard Apple Mail locations, it may be tricky to choose the correct folder. The problem is that Apple Mail folders are in somewhat difficult to access locations. The following steps will guide you on how to add the required folder(s).

1. Open your InfoClick preferences.
2. By the area labeled "Email Folders" list, click the button with a plus icon.
3. The standard system file selection dialog will appear.
4. Use the keyboard shortcut Command + Shift + G to activate the Finder command "Go To Folder".
5. Paste one of the standard Apple Mail folder paths into the prompt and click the "Go" button:

6. The file selection dialog will now select the desired folder. Confirm it by clicking the "Open" button:

Those steps will add a new folder to the list of locations searched by InfoClick.
There are two standard folders used by Apple Mail, with the following folder paths:

Code: Select all

~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail

Code: Select all

~/Library/Mail
You may want to add both of the above folders to InfoClick's list of folders.
