I got this message on my MBP M1 today when I launched the latest version of Nisus Writer Pro:
Support for Intel apps is ending
This version of ‘Nisus Writer Pro’
contains a component that is not compatible
with a future version of macOS. Find out more
about how to update to a version that is
optimised for Apple Silicon.
If no fix, NWP will probably stop working after next major macOS upgrade in September.

Re: Bad future for NWP if no update soon …
The warning probably relates to "Nisus File Converter", which is actually from Libre Office, because it is not a Silicon app.
You might try removing it from the NWP application bundle and see whether you still get the warning. To do that, quit NWP, then open the Finder and select Go menu > Go to Folder, then paste the following into the dialog:
/Applications/Nisus Writer Pro.app/Contents/MacOS/
The resulting folder contains two files: Nisus Writer Pro and Nisus File Converter. Move "Nisus File Converter" somewhere else. Relaunch NWP.
I'm still running MacOS 15 Sequoia, so I haven’t tried this myself.
In any event, the warning is premature because MacOS 27 will include Rosetta. It's MacOS 28 that allegedly will not, unless Apple changes their mind.

Re: Bad future for NWP if no update soon …
Even worse, MacOS 26.5 won't have any Intel support. We're currently at 26.4.1.
My guess is 27.0 - due out later this year, will signal the end of NWP.

Re: Bad future for NWP if no update soon …
Correction: 26.5 will be the last to support Intel.
Re: Bad future for NWP if no update soon …
This is incorrect. Nisus Writer Pro is a universal application, which means it will not die when Rosetta is dropped. The libreoffice converter might, but Nisus itself will still run. In fact, it's running better on my M5 with Tahoe than the same version did on my Intel Mac mini with Sonoma.
Re: Bad future for NWP if no update soon …
I removed the Nisus File Converter and relaunched NWP and no more alert message. Thanks for the advise.Bob Stern wrote: ↑2026-05-12 12:21:33 The warning probably relates to "Nisus File Converter", which is actually from Libre Office, because it is not a Silicon app.
