How do I manually gather logs for Nisus Writer?

In most situations you can use the feedback reporter inside Nisus Writer to automatically report bugs and gather recent logs. But if for some reason you can't use the feedback reporter, or it isn't detecting recent logs, you can gather the log files manually.

The instructions below for gathering crash and hang logs are very similar. Please pay close attention to the specified information, especially which "Logs" folder you are inspecting. One resides in your home folder, the other in the root folder; these paths only differ in the leading ~ or / character.

How to manually gather crash logs:
1. Launch Apple's Console app.
2. In the sidebar on the left, expand the location ~/Library/Logs.
3. From the list of sub-items, select the category "DiagnosticReports".
4. From the list of crash logs, look for any starting with the name "Nisus Writer Pro".
5. Select the most recent Nisus Writer crash log. That log is likely listed last, as file names contain the date. (see screenshot below)
6. Click the "Share" icon in the toolbar and choose "Mail" to attach the crash log to a new email.
7. Email the log to us at the following address:
