Searching the forum is not possible anymore
Searching the forum is not possible anymore
Since one or two weeks I can't search the forum anymore. I have tried another browser and restarted my machine, but all that doesn't make any difference.
Have others also noticed this? Or is it just me?

Re: Searching the forum is not possible anymore
Just tried it; it resulted in a completely blank page. Is that what you see?

Re: Searching the forum is not possible anymore
I'm having the same experience and hope it gets fixed soon
Re: Searching the forum is not possible anymore
Indeed, now on Jan 21 EST, just a blank page is returned.
I hope this is not a harbinger of Nisus' demise.

Re: Searching the forum is not possible anymore
I can confirm that as of 2Feb2025 searching is still not possible from my machine.
Re: Searching the forum is not possible anymore
Same here, every search results in a blank page.

G'day, all
Neither simple nor advanced Search works, in any browser. However, it is still possible to get results by using one of the Internet-wide search engines and incorporating "Nisus forum" in your search terms.
More of a worry to me is the possibility that even posting to a Nisus forum might fail to work at some stage soon. The fact that there has been neither fix nor comment from Nisus regarding this forum search issue is deeply concerning. The elephant in the room was raised some time ago in another thread, and I think it needs to be addressed. There could be any number of reasons for it, not all of them pessimistic for Nisus or its users. If no official comment from Nisus, or from someone with inside knowledge (who might just be able to provide a general indication of the situation without betraying any personal or commercial confidences), is not forthcoming soon, we may have to start exploring ways of remaining in contact and/or managing our workflow in future.
In any event, I wish all those at Nisus well.
Cheers,
Adrian

I for one would like to remain in contact with users if NWP is no longer supported by its creators, and this forum stops working. If no official comment from Nisus, or from someone with inside knowledge (who might just be able to provide a general indication of the situation without betraying any personal or commercial confidences), is not forthcoming soon, we may have to start exploring ways of remaining in contact and/or managing our workflow in future.

Re: Searching the forum is not possible anymore
I emailed the four addresses on Nisus.com's contact page, customerservice@nisus.com, support@nisus.com, webadmin@nisus.com, and sales@nisus.com.
This is a Saturday and an answer might not come until Monday. However, I got a bounce for customerservice@nisus.com. Out of date email addresses on company web sites can be overlooked. By itself, a bad email address means nothing and the overall picture might be more the result of pareidolia where the perceived terms suggest a false sum.

I've happily used Nisus for years. Now I'm worried.
Your last blog post is two years old. A thread discussing a broken forum feature ("Searching the forum is not possible any more") has run since January without Nisus response.
The "Is Nisus moribund" thread never got a response from Nisus.
Is Nisus OK? It would be wonderful to see new life in your product. For instance, page styles. You already handle styles with exemplary panache. Page styles would be a great addition.
Master document support (or maybe some variant of transclusion) would be a really cool extension. Nisus could be like Scrivener except without the complex compile process and fully capable of polished final formatting.
If everything is well at Nisus, please come visit your forums and let loyal customers know. If this is a case of a good thing riding into the sunset with honor, please find a buyer with a little company mentality, someone who won't buy Nisus to scrub it from the market.
Writers need Nisus. Word is a horror. Pages is remarkably good, but not an industrial strength tool. Styles in Pages, for example, work great but don't let the writer swap style sets.
Nisus is not replaceable.
Very best wishes

Today I sent a private message to the team

Jerzy Lewak is credited as the CEO and his wife, Jolanta, is the CFO. According to this website Jerzy is now 75 years old:
https://checkpeople.com/name/Jerzy-Lewak
The site includes his current address [in Del Mar, CA] and telephone numbers. The email addresses are unfortunately incomplete.
If some Nisus user lives in California, it would be worthwhile trying to get him on the phone.
Here is an interview with them both on YouTube. The interview is from 2011.

Re: Searching the forum is not possible anymore
It's possible the Nisus era is coming to a close. If so, that's a loss. Nisus was never the only way to save the cat, so written art survives.
A shame, though.
