i had nisus for os9 and was happy with it. i wrote everything on it. now i am publishing my dissertation and i open up the docs. in nwe and oh my god! what a mess.
i cannot even see half the pages. they gone. no way to edit the footnotes with the tool bar and i have to go through physically and do everything. and the missing text is still missing except in rough version view ("brouuillon" in french..i don't know what that ruler is in english)
help me please!

help--urgent
Re: help--urgent
Which versino of NW are you using in OS 9 and OS X? Did you save as an RTF when exporting from NW classic? If not, try that.disfasia wrote:i had nisus for os9 and was happy with it. i wrote everything on it. now i am publishing my dissertation and i open up the docs. in nwe and oh my god! what a mess.

Converting NW Classic Documents to NWX
Also, how did you transfer your OS 9 NW Classic files to your OS X NWX environment? There have been other cases of NW Classic files failing to convert to NWX properly that turned out to be due to the Classic files having been corrupted. See this thread for example.
P.S. I think the "rough version view" you mention is probably "Draft View" in English (nightmarish visions of high school French lessons flash before my eyes... )

a fix?
so, when i went through all the pages of my doc and reformatted every paragraph according to rulers i have in nwe, such as citation, footnote, etc, the document slowly appeared. this is weird, i just went through and clicked on each parag. and then each preformatted ruler on the right.
why is this?
and now, all my footnotes are in a 12pt font. i need to reduce this. is there a way i can select only my footnotes to format so i can change the font size?
thanks again

Re: a fix?
I would recommend editing the Footnote style (using the Style Sheet). If that doesn't fix the problem, then click any footnote. Select All (Edit > Select All). Then use the Character palette or the Format menu to reduce the size of the font. (Sorry. I'm too lazy to switch system languages to check the French terminology for these things.)disfasia wrote:and now, all my footnotes are in a 12pt font. i need to reduce this. is there a way i can select only my footnotes to format so i can change the font size?
I have never used Nisus Writer (Classic), so the advice might need to be different for documents brought over from that. Still, I hope it helps.

Re: thanks
You obviously used Nisus Classic for a reason and were capable of being published (e.g. save and email or export and email). Why can't you just open your document in Nisus and go from there?disfasia wrote:thanks to everyone. so what do you mean by "publish it from there?"
