I often have problems getting PowerFind to work. Here's my latest example. I'm cutting & pasting text in #ed lines, & I want to remove the #s.
???' ??? ?? ??' ?????? ???? ????????? ??????
TH.889 ????????, ???' ?????? ???? ?????? ??????????
TH.890 ?????????? ???????? ??? ????????? ?????,
TH.891 ????? ???????????? ??? ??????? ???????????:
TH.892 ??? ??? ?? ????????, ??? ?? ????????? ?????
TH.893 ????? ???? ???? ???? ???? ????????????.
I enter this string in PowerFind: TH., then Wildcard 0-9 1+, then Special Characters Space 1+.
This works perfectly in NW 6, but finds nothing in NWE.
I just discovered that the search works if I change the specific TH to Wildcard AZ 1+. Why can't I mix specific data w/ general criteria in PowerFind?

I bet this is the problem: there is a bug in 2.6.1 that can cause PowerFind to fail when the "ignore case" option is checked. Try turning it off and see if your matches work.
We've definitely got this fixed for the upcoming 2.7 release, along with some issues the anchor characters ("^" and "$") were causing. I know it's frustrating when PowerFind doesn't work, because you start doubting your patterns. I've had similar experiences in the old BBEdit Lite, before I knew that the non-greedy modifiers didn't work.
