In one user account, spell checking is non-functional in both TextEdit and NWE if I select English or English (US) as the language. Spell checking does work if I select any other language. It also works in the other user account on my computer.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!

A search on Apple's discussion forum <http://discussions.apple.com/category.j ... goryID=160> led me to the solution:

In ~/Library/Caches/, I deleted the following folders:
com.apple.DictionaryManager
Dictionary
Nisus Writer Express
TextEdit

Hopefully this solution will help someone else, as there were several people on the Apple forum with this problem.
