Section symbol problem

I am using the Section symbol § (option 6). When I reopen the document all of the section symbols are replaced by some generic graphic which prints as such.

How do I keep the section symbol from changing?

I just gave it a try and didn't have any problems. It may be related to the font you are using- what font do you have applied to the section symbol? Can you try applying Times to the section symbol and see if it still changes?
