Where are all the Nisus support files?

If my Mac breaks down and I have to continue on another (identical) machine where I download a new copy of Nisus: Which files do I have to backup to transfer to have my Preferences and Macros as before?

Hi, js.

You should make a backup copy of the support folder and .plist file. The former should be located in YourHome/Library/Application Support/Nisus Writer, or YourVolume/Library/Application Support/Nisus Writer. The latter is in YourHome/Library/Preferences/com.nisus.NisusWriter.plist.
Note: YourHome is your home folder (the one with a home-like icon). YourVolume is usually your startup HD or a partition thereof.
Make a regular copy of both if you want to restore the full settings when you're in a predicament.

Greetings, Henry.

Henry is exactly right, the Application Support folder stores your macros, glossaries, language definitions, and some other stuff. I would say that in general you should probably be backing the whole contents of both these folders:

Code: Select all

~/Library/Application Support
~/Library/Preferences
(The "~" is a standard abbreviation that means your user/home folder)

Most well-behaved applications should place all their ancillary support files in these directories.
