I guess I could run Virtual Box within Linux and then use Nisus, since I assume the company doesn't have any plans whatsoever in creating a Linux version. I'm disliking Apple more and more everyday, I guess one of the few things keeping me is Nisus. But I'll do a partition with Ubuntu 11.4 and then run Nisus. Let's see how it goes, I guess the languages part will be affected.

I'd love to see a Linux port of Nisus Writer, too. I switched from Mac to Ubuntu as my primary OS in 2006.

Since Nisus is based on the Apple text engine, I wouldn't hold your breath!

One solution might be to use GNUstep (http://www.gnustep.og), Cocoa's open-source cousin. But that's up to the Nisus guys to decide is they want to do that or not. The answer probably being 'not', since it certainly wouldn't be easy: There are quite a few differences and incompatibilities between Cocoa and GNUstep, even if both are based on the NextStep API.
It seems though that other word processors have been ported. One example is Bean (http://www.bean-osx.com). You can see the GNUstep version here: http://heronsperch.blogspot.com/2010/12 ... me-as.html. It seems the port is not officially available yet unfortunately. And Bean is obviously no match to NWP regarding functionalities…
