How do you switch authors for comments? :?

Does this happen automatically when a Nisus document is opened on another computer?

For existing comments that are already inside a file, you can't change the comment author names. Those are stored inside the file as-is and will be transferred to other computers as they were recorded when the comment was written.

If you want to change your own author name, for any new comments you make, you can adjust that in NWP's General preferences (at the top). Does that answer your question?

Thanks, Martin.

I'm wondering if I, as a single author, could alternate between different colors of comments. From your answer, it sounds as though this isn't an option. :|

The short answer is "yes".

However, there is a way you can do this while keeping the file on the same computer, but, the process it is a bit complex. You can actually see it illustrated in the User's Guide in the section on comments as well as on tracking changes. The problem was solved by passing the document back and forth between different (fictional) users on one computer.

I hope that helps. If you need any additional assistance, please let me know.

There is actually a way to alternate comment authors. It's not super convenient, but it's not too difficult either:

1. Add all the comments you want using your current author name.
2. Close the document.
3. In the NWP General preferences, change your author name.
4. Reopen the document.
5. Any new comments you add will be marked with the author name you chose in step 3.

This work around works for me!
