I hope this hasn't been covered elsewhere but I'm trying to work out why chunks of text are missing after importing some files from Word. The files have been edited by a third party before they come to me so I know little of their origins. However, my best guess is that the missing text represents entries from some kind of bibliographic software. (If I open the files in Pages, then all of the missing text appears but surrounded by a blue outline.) My questions are: 1) does this sound plausible, and; 2) is there some way to fix this? (At the moment I am opening files in Pages, exporting as rtf, then re-opening in NWP. This fixes everything but it is far from ideal.)

It could be that these special/missing chunks of text were produced by bibliographic software, or are some other special kind of automated content.
