footnotes --- when opening a docx document in Nisus

Hello,

I am a convert from PC to Mac. Doing OK, so far. :) Except for one matter:

When I open up a .doc or .docx file in Nisus, the footnotes are there but they have no numbers. Rather they all have same code
--- NOTEREF _Ref319262934 ---
both in the main text and at the beginning of the footnote, where the number should be.

Is there any way to globally correct this, or must I cut and paste each one into a new Nisus numbered footnote?

Thanks for any help.

Isaac

Hi Isaac,

I'm sorry you've had issues getting your footnote numbering to import. However, I haven't been able to observe the problem myself. Is there anything special about the footnotes you've created in Word? Perhaps you could send us a sample document for testing, so we can try to reproduce the problem? The best way is from inside Nisus Writer, via the menu Help > Send Feedback.

Thanks for your help- hopefully we can get this solved for you.

We've received a sample file from Isaac and this is indeed a bug when importing certain docx documents. We've filed it as something to take a look at, but in the meantime I'm attaching a macro here that cleans up these kinds of garbage "NOTEREF" imports.
