I've just done a global change from footnotes to endnotes (in an attempt - which failed - to get rid of unwanted and invisible page breaks) and my endnotes now all have roman numerals.

NWP 2.0.4 and OS 10.7.4

Can anyone suggest why I have roman numerals? And you get a bonus if you can tell me how to get rid of unwanted page breaks.

It sounds like your document simply has its endnote style set to display roman numerals. It's easy to change:

1. Switch to the Style Sheet View.
2. From the list on the left, choose your Endnotes note style.
3. From the settings on the right, change the number format to whatever you like.

As for those invisible page breaks, I'm not sure. Have you turned on "show invisibles" to see if there's actual break characters? If that's not the issue, maybe you can send us a sample so we can have a look.

Fixed the endnotes, probably imported the style from someone else...

The page breaks can't be removed, I even delete the text before and after the break, when I put a return back in the page breaks again... Either that, or it forces a break before the preceding paragraph.

Thanks for the file Iain. I know we resolved this privately, but in case anyone on the forum was curious, there were no actual page break. The unwanted whitespace was caused by the "keep ¶ together" option applied to a large paragraph. Because NWP was told to keep the paragraph together, the whole paragraph was forced to the next page, leaving behind a large whitespace on the prior page.
