This has been a minor annoyance for a few weeks now, I haven't found a solution and it has become a major annoyance.

Let's suppose I'm working on Doc A and open existing Doc B. Doc B opens behind Doc A. This happens regardless of Doc A being previously saved or not (opening a new template does not present this issue).

Any suggestions as to why this started happening? I cannot find anything in preferences that would cover this...

This sounds a bit odd, and I'm not sure what could trigger this problem. There's certainly no preference to control this sort of thing. How are you opening the second document exactly? Using NWP's File menu, drag-dropping it onto NWP's dock icon, etc?
