Bug in Lists palette in 2.0.5 ?

I make frequent use of the Lists palette and often use the Number field to change the number in a numbered list. In the past this has worked fine, but in 2.0.5 the number shown in the palette is not transferred into the document, so one cannot override automatic numbering.
Am I the only person with this problem?

Confirmed. I don't often use lists, but I've found two things:
1) you can't change the number through the palette;
2) making a paragraph a numbered list (aoutomatically numbered 1 and unchangeable), on pressing return, the next paragraph is not number-listed but an ordinary paragraph. If I make a paragraph style with list attributes, that can be applied to subsequent paragraphs but only by applying it specifically from the styles palette.
As I say, I haven't used lists much for a long time but I don't remember it being like this.

If you'd like a fix issued for this bug sooner rather than later, then please post your support to Nisus issuing more frequent bug-fixes on page viewtopic.php?f=18&t=5439
Nisus do listen to numbers, so the more people who support more frequent bug-fixes, the more notice they take of the issue!
thanks, Cris

You can also specify that the next paragraph has the same style in the style sheet, then it automatically has the list style attribute when you press return.
I use lists extensively, and worked with a previous beta to resolve many problems so lists work pretty well now. But changing its start number in the palette does cause problems.

I can also confirm that this does not work. This would seem to be a serious bug, that Nisus should fix as soon as possible.
I was however able to change the starting number of a list by going through the style sheet view. Select the list level you want to change the starting number and then adjust it in the palette. This worked for me.

Thank you. But I've just tried this and it changes all the lists in the file simultaneously! The virtue of the way the palette worked in the past was that one could adjust each list individually, which was brilliant.

You mean to say that you had a single list style in a document, for which you reset the numbering repeatedly but to different starting numbers each time? (Were you using the "Restart Numbering" too in that file?) This sounds rather confusing and the fact that this was possible sounds more like a (low-level) bug, that you were able to creatively exploit. Frankly while I endorse the idea of being able to set the starting number in the list palette, I guess one would need to think what kind of behavior one is really aiming for.
The thing you seem to want would preferably be a feature that should be tied to the "Restart Numbering".

I wish I'd read the forum before upgrading my version of Nisus. I make extensive use of lists in many of my documents and just opened one to discover this bug. I generally use the lists but add a sentence or two of text between the list items so I rely heavily on the ability to reset the number in the list as I go. I just opened a mission critical document to find that all my numbers in every list are reset to 1. and there's no way to use the list function to make them anything else. I can do it manually but it's labor intensive and defeats the advantage of the auto list function.
So, just thought I'd add my 2 cents to this discussion so that if anyone is listening there might be a bug fix for it sooner than later. And to see if anyone else has discovered a way to work around it.
I've used the list function without a hitch as long as I've been using Nisus, to my recollection. It's a shame to see a bug introduced to such a core feature in this update. Nisus Writer Pro has been the easiest word processor I've ever used in almost every feature, and especially the way it handles lists ... until now.
Oh ... and I did vote on the poll for more frequent updates.

To allay fears that this won't be fixed soon: we are planning on releasing another bug-fix update that takes care of the list numbering bug introduced in version 2.0.5.

Is there any way to download 2.0.4 which did not have this problem? I've looked around for a way to do it but can't find one.
I have emailed support asking the same question but haven't received an answer. This bug is shutting down my estate planning practice Monday morning because there are hundreds of pages of documents I have waiting to print that need to be manually corrected before I can use them. It has me in a bit of a serious bind.

We make many older versions available in our
Nisus Writer Pro version archive, including 2.0.4.

Many thanks for 2.0.6. The list renumbering mechanism now functions as it used to, and I am very grateful for this.
