Selecting Non-Contiguous (Multipart) Table Cells

How do I select non-contiguous (multipart) table cells?

Is the procedure the same if the cell has been split and if not, how do I handle a split cell?

Thank you!

In Nisus holding down <command> while selecting allows non-contiguous selection. This works with table cells as it does with anything else. One trickiness is that Nisus makes a difference between selecting a cell and selecting the (text) contents of a cell. If you click in a cell, you will be at first selecting the contents. If you drag across the cell border it will switch to cell selection, and immediately select both cells. Just move the mouse back a bit and you can select only the first cell.
Nisus allows you to mix both types of selection in a single non-contiguous selection, and if you copy and paste such a selection, you will see the difference. I haven't tried this much, but split/merged cells will behave just like any other (I assume). The main difference comes out when you try to select columns/rows. Why don't you try it out?

In the end, however, I have to ask: What are you trying to do? Depending on what you are trying to achieve, you might have better success using Find (or perhaps a macro).

I'm trying to create a template for Smead Easy Slide hanging file folder tab inserts. (Smead does not have one and I could not find one online that comports with the dimensions.)

Each sheet has ten tabs, 3.25 wide and 0.875 in height (3 1/4 x 7/8), with each tab allotting 0.562 (9/16) for text. [The bottom portion of each measures 0.312 (5/16), and folds.]

I created a table with ten rows and split them. Ideally, I want the first alternating rows to measure 0.562 in height, and then the other alternating rows to measure .0312.

Right now I'm combining eyeballing and doing trial and error.

The reason for the question was to try to select each set of alternating rows and equalize them, to distribute them evenly in height.

Thank you!

Try the following macro:
SmeadEasySlideTabInserts.nwm
(16.65 KiB) Downloaded 304 times
PS: Note that if you wanted the cell borders set in a particular way, the macro could be adjusted to take care of that as well. If you need help with that, just let me know.

Not wanting to offend, I checked the thesaurus for appropriate synonyms for 'god,' but came up short. So, you're stuck with being a that.

And such a fast response, to boot!

Hopefully, next time I'll remember to post here before struggling so !^@&$?)! much on my own.

Related, I'm doing a little tweaking to suit the particular OCD aspect with which I'm trying to comply at such given moment, but otherwise I'm in heaven as far as this is concerned.
