Hi:

Is it possible to rearrange items in the Groups side pane of the Document Manager (i.e., so as to place my Custom Groups in the top third) and if so, how?

The groups in the Document Manager are arranged alphabetically. So the best you can do is choose names wisely, or use prefixed space, etc. to force the order.
