Hi all,
i have made the switch from a PB G4 to a Macbook. No more Classic, no more Nisus Writer 6.5. Bought NWP instead.
And I am missing NWC even before I have written anything. I wanted to start with a chapternumber. COM-1 has been the shortcut, which placed a "1." on to the page in NWC. Then I could write and whenever I want hit COM-1 again and voilá "2." appeared and so forth. Simple as that.
Is there something similar in NWP, and if not, why??

Before I get started, I should mention that I have never used NWC. The feature that you mention does not exist as such in NWP; however, you can set up lists, or have the application auto-number styles, such as headings, to achieve a very similar result. I'm sure someone who has used both apps will be able to tell you how the auto-numbering feature in NWP compares to the classic version's numbering command.
