Hello,
I've recently purchased Nisus Pro, while typing in Hebrew (right to left) quotation marks are written in the opposite direction which fits English.
What should I do?
Thanks,
Roy
Quotation mark in Hebrew
Hi roy,
I also use hebrew with nisus and I am not sure I understand your quetsion. I can not attach a file here (I don't have URL) but I would like to know which quotation marks are you using and how do you think the should loook like?
obviously with the " type you don't have a problem, I assume you speak about the “ ” pair or the curly ones. which one do you see on the right of your hebrew text?
Micah- I simply use the keyboard quotes and get the same results..

They are reversed for me when using the standard quotation typing just as Roy is complaining about. I've experienced the same problem in other Hebrew word processors as well (Mellel - Mac, Davka - PC). As a matter of fact, the only program that I've used that gets the quotes right in Hebrew is Adobe Illustrator CS3 ME (Middle Eastern version).
Maybe it's font dependent?

it could be font-dependent. I use Lucida Grande as default. the simple solution would be to cancel curly quotes in the QuickFix Preferences. then you have just the straight ones..
Do you by any chance work with a windows originated font?
p.s. I have just noticed that the direction of the marks is switched when the language of the paragraph does not match the direction of writing. ie if you have a hebrew paragraph but the direction of writing is set to left to right for some reason- then your mark will be switched, if language and RTL choice match- I think it is ok.
maybe someone can corroborate that?
