I am having a problem creating an index in Nisus Writer Pro. The documentation states that you can create an index using a word list. It states that the word list should be a table to two columns with column 1 containing the word to be indexed and column 2 the word to be used when the index is created.
As a test I created a ten page document with the word to be indexed, ‘yoga’ inserted on pages 1, 3, 6, 8 & 10. I then created a word list file formatted as;
yoga tab yoga return
I saved this file as a text file and as a RTF file.
I first selected the entire document to be indexed and then I selected insert using word list… from the Index submenu of the Insert menu. In the open dialog I selected the appropriate word list document to be used for creating the index and clicked auto index.
I then get a dialogue box with the message,
Indexing Complete
A total of 0 entries have been marked for inclusion in the index.
I get this message no matter what word list file I choose to use. What has happened? Have I missed a step or used improper formatting. It seems that it should be really straight forward. At least it seems that way according to the documentation.
Any help I can get in resolving this will be greatly appreciated.

I just tried it out myself and didn't have any luck- there's definitely something wrong here. I tried the same list in NWP 1.1 and it works just fine. We'll definitely take a look, thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply. How long do you think it will take before this problem is fixed? We are in the final stages of preparing some texts for publication and were depending on being able to index with Nisus. Could I open the document in NWP 1.1 index it and move the document back to NWP 1.2? This might be a temporary solution as you said indexing with a word list works fine in NWP 1.1. If you think this will work I will need to get a new copy of NWP 1.1. Unfortunatley when NWP 1.2 came out I threw away NWP 1.1.
Thank you,
John Hughes

Thanks for providing the link Hamid.
Until we can release a version of NWP that fixes the issue, I don't think you have any option other than to mark your indexing via a word list using NWP 1.1. The one thing you should be careful of is using features that were introduced in 1.2. For example, if you insert an automatically updating date stamp using 1.2, it will become plain/fixed text when opened in 1.1. Sorry for the hassle.
