Hiding "gray indicator" for lists etc

Hi,
Is there some way of turning off the "gray background" for list items? I know that it doesn't print etc but I want to hide it while on the screen. I've tried to find a command/setting that hides this ... but I've failed.

Does anyone know how to hide it?

Check the 'Hide this highlighting' box In NWP's Preferences=>Appearance:
