Hello, In my version of Nisus Writer Pro (1.4.1), Word Count in the tools palette always appears as [-], though numbers of characters and paragraphs do appear.
This is for the whole file and also selected passages.
Btw, The macro "create word list" (which I used to use for word count in NW Express) has an error line 11. I don't need a word list.
This has always been the case, since I first bought it, but I've not needed word count till now. Thanks in advance for advice.

Here are a couple of things to check:
1. What language do you have applied to your document text? Try selecting some of your text and then look to the Language palette (or the menu Format > Language). Is this the language you expected?
2. Open up your Nisus Writer Preferences and switch to the Languages pane. From the list of languages on the left, choose the language you discovered in step 1. From the settings on the right, make sure the "count words in this language" option is checkmarked.
