Font Unexpectedly Changes to Times

Post by wrbtu »

I'm using Palatino 12 as the default font in my documents, & it's the default font in my template document for new documents. But in one particular document, every time I press the paragraph return key (from a line that's using Palatino 12), the font automatically changes to Times 12 on the new line. One example is that I have a few words on a line in Palatino 12 Bold, I hit the return key, start typing, & the font has become Times 12 Regular. This is a document that was created years ago, & may originally have been started in Times font; it's a 400 page document that still has some paragraphs in Times that have not been converted to Palatino yet, but the problem occurs in new paragraphs that are not near the paragraphs in Times. Why is NisusWriterPro doing this, & how can I tell the program to leave Palatino as the font? I'm having no problems with Palatino or Times, other than this issue. Thanks.

If Palatino 12 is an attribute in a defined style, which is named say 'Normal', then by default, Normal will remain so when you press Return.
If this does not happen, it may be that your 'Next Style' is some other style. You can check in the Style Sheet what that 'Next Style' is and rectify the situation.

Hamid, Thanks for your help with this. I'm not too familiar with the Style Sheets, but it seems like that is indeed what's happening. I'll have to learn more about changing/editing the Style Sheets, & then I'll do what you suggested. Regards, Don
