no superscript for endnote references

Post by peterdanckwerts »

Anyone had a similar problem? I had no problem with endnote numbering until I got up to about 290 notes. After that, the numbers failed to go superscript (can be fixed manually). This only applies to the numbers in the text, not in the notes. It's not a serious problem, just mildly irritating.

Whether note references are superscripted is controlled by your Note Styles. Specifically, each note style (eg: "Footnote") has two Character Styles associated with it. The first style, "Doc Reference Style", controls how the note references appear in the main document area. The second style, "Note Reference Style", controls how the references appear in the note area. So, you'll want to make sure your Endnote style has an appropriate "Note Reference Style" configured (eg: a character style that enforces a superscript attribute).

I hope that helps; let me know how it goes.
