Currently when notes are formatted as footnotes I get an empty line -- not sure it's a full line, but definitely a space -- between the text at the end of the page and the first footnote. When formatted as endnotes, however, the notes begin immediately after the last line of text. There is no blank line, no space, between them.
I've tried specifying that points be added before the note in the paragraph palette associated with the endnote style, but that seems to have no effect.
How do I get a blank line/space between the end of the text and the beginning of the notes?
Thanks,

That should have done the trick, but it looks like there's some kind of bug. I'll take a look, thanks!Eric Weir wrote:I've tried specifying that points be added before the note in the paragraph palette associated with the endnote style, but that seems to have no effect.
I don't know that there's a good workaround. If the first paragraph of your first endnote happens to be a single line (no wrapping) you could increase the line height for just that paragraph. How do I get a blank line/space between the end of the text and the beginning of the notes?

Actually, on second thought, it's not the solution I would prefer, as my guess is it would result in insertion of a blank line or space before every note, which I don't want to do, just the first note.martin wrote:That should have done the trick, but it looks like there's some kind of bug. The interesting thing is that while I get a line or space before the first note if notes are formatted as footnotes, no points before are set in the footnote style, nor do I get unwanted empty lines between notes.
In my experiments I couldn't tell that specifying points before either in the footnote or endnote style had any effect. That must not be right, but it's how it seems to me at this point.

Re: Inserting a line before beginning of endnotes
You're right, I read your post much too quickly, sorry about that. I thought you were adjusting the "gutter height" space (via the stylesheet) associated with your Endnote style. That's the spacing you're looking for, and where the bug lies.Eric Weir wrote:Actually, on second thought, it's not the solution I would prefer, as my guess is it would result in insertion of a blank line or space before every note, which I don't want to do, just the first note.
The paragraph spacing "before" should not be applied to the first note.
