Note Styles: Footnote - How to reapply format?

How can I force the Footnote style to be reapplied to the text of a footnote?

Since the Footnote style (from "Note Styles") is not in the "Styles" palette I cannot seem to force my footnotes to have the style reapplied to it. Am i missing something? (And I agree with others who have asked for Note Styles to be included in the Style Palette.)

Maybe your footnotes have some overlying attributes you want to get rid of, like bold or italics or the wrong size/font. If so, click anywhere in a footnote and do a select all (command-A), then apply Format > Remove Attributes Except Styles. Otherwise, let us know.

As Henry mentioned, you probably have formatting on top of the Footnote style that is overriding the style. Removing that unwanted formatting is likely what you want.

Adding notes styles to the palette is likely not what you really need. If you have a footnote, the Footnote note style is automatically applied. If you have an endnote, the Endnote style is automatically applied. Basically these styles are always applied. It's only if you have applied formatting overrides that they will not seem to be in effect. Remove the overrides and the note style's formatting will be respected.
