Styles not sticking . . .

Post by goldste4 »

Hi All,

Here is the problem: I'm using NWP v2, and have a 9,000 word text, most of which is in the "normal" paragraph style. A few paragraphs have other paragraph styles applied to them (mainly: block quotations, first paragraphs after headings). Nothing fancy. When I save (native RTF), close the file, and then reopen it, some of the non-normal paragraphs have reverted to normal. I reapply the correct styles: the newly applied style show on the screen and in the style palette and even prints properly (minus the bug with the page numbers—I haven't checked out the Beta yet). All is good. I save the file, close, then reopen it again and the re-applied non-normal styles have reverted back to normal. A bit frustrating.

It is not the style has disappeared from the style library or that all the paragraphs with that style (say, block quotation) have reverted to normal, but only one or two. I can consistently duplicate the problem in this particular file, and I've never had this problem before, either in NWP v1 or v2. The file also uses tracking changes (290 of them!), for what it is worth.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd much appreciate it.

Thanks,
Josh

Hi Josh- if you could send me the file (or an example snippet that reproduces the problem) that would be very much appreciated. It would also help if you could point out a specific paragraph where the style reverts. Thanks so much.
