coloring page view screen

Post by docrates2 »

Hey rmark,

Is it not possible to color the paper in the 'page view' setting? I know I can provide the little bit of background coloring behind each letter, but then the rest of the paper is white. Now, I know in 'draft view' or 'full screen view' I can color the whole background of the paper; but then I can't see my footnotes! So it seems Nisus leaves me these two unsatisfying options:
1) view my document in 'page view', which will include all my footnotes at the bottom of each page but then I'm stuck with the glaring white screen; or
2) view my document in 'draft view' or 'full screen view', which allows me to color the whole page but doesn't allow me to see my footnotes at the bottom of each page.

I'm trying to write a dissertation, so I must be able to see my footnotes; and after awhile the white page dries the eyes something fierce. Is Nisus in the works of providing better options here? I feel this inadequacy really limits the potential of Nisus and detracts from all the other good features Nisus provides. Thanks.

As one who ‘complained’ about this for years, I’m happy to be able to say:

Preferences>Appearance>Document Views>Page color

Is this not what you’re after?

Hello, docrates2

If you are using NWP version 2 you can set the page background. Go to Preferences. Click on the Appearance tab. Click on Document Views in the bottom pane, and then on Page Color. That’s where you can set the paper color in Page View.
Alternatively, you can produce a colored rectangle with a graphic application, same size as the document, and import it into your NWP document through Tools>Watermark. I use this feature very frequently when I need to convert a document into pdf for screen reading.
