Hi,
I was working on an rtf, a format I thought was encouraged for NWP, and had pages and pages with comments. I saved, closed, and came back later. When I double clicked on the rtf file it opened in TextEdit automatically. When closing I also habitually clicked Command+Save. No big deal I thought. Until I opened it next in NWP and to my horror discovered the comments were gone.
Is there some setting I need to tweak for them to reappear. Or, did Textedit delete them somehow.
And unfortunately I did not have auto-save on (it slows my computer down), nor had my TM attached.
Please, tell me they are still there somewhere. I can't believe they can be deleted so easy.
Thanks!
Comments are gone from rtf

Re: Comments are gone from rtf
I hate to deliver the bad news, but the comments are gone from the file TextEdit saved; it won't preserve any features it doesn't support/implement. That means TextEdit will strip comments, tracked changes, stylesheets, bookmarks, etc, from any files it saves. Very sorry to hear that you don't have any backups available.
