Comments and tracked changes exported as Word file

Post by addled »

Can anyone confirm/verify the quality of the conversion of comments and tracked changes when exporting an NWP file as a Word file?

I'm switching to a Mac after about 28 years on PCs. I'm also keen to lose Word ,which is becoming more and more convoluted to use (my earliest word processors were Multimate and Word Perfect). I do, however, make extensive use of track changes and comments in Word, especially when I work on students' dissertations, so it is particularly important that these 'work' in the Word file.

For the best compatibility (preserve all tracked changes and comments), I recommend you use the regular "Save As" to a .doc/Word file. That produces a .doc file with RTF codes inside, which Word will happily open with high fidelity. If you choose to "Export As" a binary .doc, less information will be preserved.
