Legible Superscripts?

I'm in the evaluation trial, and the superscript font "faking" for Times New Roman is already about to guarantee I remove NSP. It's a great program in many ways, but if I can't get a superscript numeral for an endnote that's legible, there's just no reason to plunk down $80 when every other program I use renders them just fine. I tried mucking around with things a bit, but I couldn't find enough control to make things look decent. As it stands, the superscript is comparable to a raise 4pt font, so entirely useless. Am I just missing something. A forum search showed a few complaints about superscripting, but nothing that offered a helpful solution (it has to work for TNR, or NSP gets trashed ).

The Times New Roman font does not provide proper "real" typographic superscripted numeral glyphs. So to show a superscripted number in Times New Roman your word processor, Nisus Writer Pro (NWP) or otherwise, must "fake" them. I'm sorry NWP's effect isn't to your liking- is the problem just that the numbers are too small? If so, you can configure your note references styles to use a larger font size.

I'm pretty sure I tried increasing the size, but I'll double-check to be sure.

Please give it a try. If you created your document in NWP using the default new file template, your note reference numbers will have the "Note Reference" character style applied. Just changing the font size of that style in the style sheet view should do the trick.

If you started your document outside of NWP, or adjusted the default settings, you'll want to look at your "Footnote" note style. You'll see a setting for that called "Doc Reference Style", which controls which character style is applied to your reference numbers.
