Nisus 1.4.2 and the "wheel"

Post by Orientalist »

After opening the document (only in Arabic script) the coloured wheel appears, so I can not do anything. After a minute or more some of the pages have only one single line written,
many pages are almost empty. After closing the document and reopening it, the pages are OK - unless the wheel appears again...etc.

What is the reason for this?

Whenever you open a file, it should always appear the same as any other time you open that file. You are saying that sometimes it opens normally, but other times it opens and there is only a single line of text per page? Or is there some other step that triggers the incorrect display?

After opening the file (rtf) I have first first of course: "Text wird gesetzt" (settting the text). The text appers correctly but I can not start to work with, because the wheel appears shortly after opening. When the wheel disappers again, the file moves and on some pages I have only one single line written.

After closing this file and opening it again the text is correct - and with some luck the wheel does not appear again. But sometimes it does. Thus, I have to close the file again etc. There is no other step.

Sometimes the wheel does not disappear at all: in this case I close the file (end immediately), than I read: "Nisus does not respond".

That sounds like a bug to me. Would you be able to send us this document for testing? It would be best if you used the menu Help > Send Feedback to do so.

It might also help to have a copy of the Apple generated hang report after you "force quit" Nisus Writer, but that information might not be necessary if we can reproduce the problem ourselves. Thanks for your help!

Thank you: I have mailed the complete file in Arabic, as it is.
