Here's a shout out for any help you may be able to offer.
I'm producing a book requiring numberous images and tables; all of which require referencing. I have found that any attempts to create and automatic numbering list for images will reset to one; once I place a table or text prior to a image.
i.e an image labeled as fig 1 works ok; however should a then insert a table (labeled as table 1) and then insert another image, this is again labled as fig 1 instead of fig 2. This seems a little astrange as I have checked the "continue numbering throughout document"
I would also like to hear of advice to use fig 1.1 as this doesn't seem to work.
Any help would be apprciated

Re: style lists for images
That sounds strange to me. If you have "continue numbering" for a list style turned on, the numbering should indeed continue. Especially if you have two list styles, one for tables and another for images- they shouldn't interact with one another.
But it's really hard to say without seeing your document; not infrequently I've seen strange list style configurations. Would you be able to post a sample document that shows the problem? You could also send me one privately using the menu Help > Send Feedback. Thanks- hopefully we can get this all working for you.
