I just completed a 120 page document setup with facing pages for printing. The document was saved and not accessed via any other program. I came back to it an hour later and when I opened it all the headers and footers were missing. I redid the work, saved the file, and exited Nisus. I immediately reopened the document in Nisus and again the header and footer information is missing.
Anyone else experience this type of problem? Any idea what the problem may be?
I'm using Nisus Writer Pro 2.04 on OS 10.8.2.
This is very frustrating. I've been using and loving Nisus Pro since it came out. This is the first problem I'm ever had with it.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Nisus 2.0.4 losing all header and footer information
Losing Headers and Footers in Nisus Pro 2.0.4
I'm using Nisus Pro 2.0.4 on OS 10.8.2. I have a document of about 120 pages. I saved it after proper formatting with facing pages for printing. When I opened it an hour later all headers and footers were gone. I redid the header/footers, saved the document, exited Nisus and reopened the document immediately. Again, all headers and footers were gone.
Any ideas on the problem? I searched the forums but didn't find an answer.
I've been using Nisus Pro since it came out for 100+ page documents and have never had a problem. But, this is a big problem in my workflow and I'm sure hoping to get to the bottom of it.
Any help or insights are greatly appreciated.
Also, I thought I had posted this earlier today but I don't see it anywhere so I'm hoping I haven't duplicated a posting.

Re: Losing Headers and Footers in Nisus Pro 2.0.4
Hello Harvey, and welcome to the forums.
Is this a problem that's repeatable? In other words, if you recreate the headers/footers, save the document, and reopen it again, will the headers/footers be gone? If so, then we'd love to have a copy of your document so we can try the process ourselves. If we can reproduce it, we can work on getting it fixed.
Now that we've see you're an actual human with intelligent questions (and you're not selling any watches), you won't have to wait for moderation in the future; your posts will appear immediately after you submit them.

You did indeed post earlier today, it's just that we require all new users to go through manual moderation for their first post(s). This is because we get a lot of spam behind the scenes with new user accounts. I've gone ahead and merged both your topics. Also, I thought I had posted this earlier today but I don't see it anywhere so I'm hoping I haven't duplicated a posting.

Re: Nisus 2.0.4 losing all header and footer information
Yes, the problem can be duplicated. Every time I change the headers/footers and save the document, they're gone when I reopen it. Is there an email address to which I send the file for you to take a look?

Re: Nisus 2.0.4 losing all header and footer information
Thank you for giving it a try again, and for helping us out. A bug that's reproducible is one that's easiest for us to fix.harveycox wrote:Yes, the problem can be duplicated. Could you please send your document to me here:

Hopefully after we see the file we'll also be able to give you a workaround. Thanks again!
Re: Nisus 2.0.4 losing all header and footer information
In the interest of closing this thread for anyone else who might stumble across it with a similar issue....
Tech support was not able to reproduce my problem. But, it occurred on my system about 6 times. I would open the file, enter headers & footers and save the file. When I would reopen it for more work, the headers & footers were missing.
Then, magically and mysteriously, it just stopped doing that. Now, I save the file and everything is intact when I reopen it.
I still have no idea what happened. If it is some kind of bug that only rears its head with a certain combination of something in the file, maybe it'll get squashed in the next update.
I do thank the folks at Nisus for trying. While I'm still a bit leery about it happening again, I'll still take the elegance of working with Nisus over anything else on the market.
