color / opacity when selecting text

Post by NisusUser »

Is there a way to change the default color and / or opacity of the color that shows up when you drag your cursor over text? Let's say I want to italicize something, so I drag my cursor over the text and then hit Cmd-I. I have a problem seeing what is selected (i.e. the temporary highlighting); it seems too light, barely visible. If I move the screen on my MBP, it shows up a bit better, but still not well enough. I'm sure it can probably be changed, but I don't know how. Any advice?

I'm using NWP 2.0.4 on OS 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard).

The selection color is definitely customizable (as well as a host of other colors). You'll want to go to your NWP preferences, switch to the "Appearance" pane, and look at the bottom where there is a list/browser of all the colors. You can change the selection color by choosing Selection > Active Selection, and then clicking the color well (the little rectangular color area). That will bring up a color wheel, which also has an opacity slider.
