problem with table cells

Post by Sylphe »

Hello,

I'm working on a long document, with many tables, multiple index and cross-references.
I encounter a quite strange problem with table cells, which is difficult for me to describe. Here is a screenshot of what happens. Although I have many tables, they are in general not very long (ca. 10-15 lines and 5-6 columns).
I also have a problem with one index: each time I try to save to PDF, the numbering is changing, and I get entries with the same number several times instead of different ones (for example "Index entry".... 183, 183, 183).

It is the first time that I see this kind of problem, especially for tables, and have no idea how to fix this.
I've tried a save as..., restarted NWP, but the problem remains the same for index and move around for tables.

Can anyone help me?
Thank you in advance

So this is a stable problem? Does the lower line have a fixed line height by any chance?
Otherwise you should try sending your file to Nisus using the feedback option in Help.

Thank you for your answer.
I don't think the lower line has a fixed height (but how can I check this?).
I tried to open my doc in NWP on my laptop (10.7.5, thinking that it was maybe and by chance a problem linked to 10.8). Everything was allright until I save as PDF: table cells mixed between different tables (on different pages!) and index numbering pages erratic.

It's really a problem, because I have to sumbit my manuscript as a camera-ready to my editor.

So let's try a feedback to Nisus.
Thanks,

Sylvie

If hyperlinks in the PDF don't matter, you can do the following:
In the NWP file, activate the Print command. Then, from the PDF button with the disclosure triangle in the Print dialog, apply "Open PDF in Preview" command. If the document appears all right in Preview app, save it as PDF.

Thank you, Hamid, for your suggestion. But I already tried this solution (I don't need hyperlink indeed), and it is not better.

In the meantime, I read a post about page numbering problem in TOC (for which I have no problem), which seems to be similar, and deals with widow/orphan control and keep paragraphs together/with next paragraph.
So, I turned off all of these, and it seems to be better for the tables. That is a first point !

I keep searching for this index question. I could do it manually working with two docs, keeping an eye on an open document with correct numbering. Not funny and time consuming.
What I really don't understand is that this problem seems to concern only two indexes (of 12), one long (about 30 pages), and one very short (1 page).
