input method not following language attribute change: bug?

Post by wch »

I don't know if this is a bug or user-confusion. Here's the setup: I have set up two languages, english and tibetan. when i change the language flag (at the bottom of the window), all goes as expected, so I have languages set up correctly. Now I have defined a style normal (bod) with the language attribute set to tibetan and I have assigned keyboard shortcuts to the normal and normal(bod) styles. The intent is to let the style set the input method and have explicit style attributes for each language.

When I use the palette to switch between the two styles, all goes as expected: the OSX input method changes along with the language and other style specific attributes. When I use the shortcut to switch from normal to normal(bod), the attributes and OSX input method changes as expected. However when I do the reverse, switch from normal(bod) to normal the attributes change but the osx input method does not. I have to manually change the input method or there is a mismatch between the language attribute and the input method.

Is that a clear enough description? Has anyone else run into this? Bug or setup problem on my part?

Thanks!

Does your normal style include an English language attribute? (The standard Nisus set-up doesn't.)
