Hi Martin (and everyone else)
Long long time user.
Yesterday, running under 10.9, I sat down to do some work and the Nisus icon in the dock had a slash through it, and when clicked wouldn't open.
I upgraded my OS this morning to 10.11.
All other apps work.
Used CleanMyMac to uninstall it.
Went and downloaded Nisus212. The download works, the installer works.
But after the install, Nisus isn't in my applications folder. Finder can't find it anywhere.
I've repeated the download and install three times.
Weird.
Thoughts?
Thanks
Seth Godin

Re: Nisus stopped working, new version disappears
Greetings Seth!
That's a strange situation, but one I think we'll be able to resolve. It sounds like the installer isn't working, and isn't placing Nisus Writer where it should (or anywhere), for whatever reason. Rather than try to figure out what's going wrong with it exactly, let's just have you try a manual installation. Please give this a try:
1. Visit our update web page.
2. Click one of the "downlink zip" links.
3. Find the zip archive in your Downloads folder. It may be that Safari already extracted the zip and created "Nisus Writer Pro.app", but if not, extract the zip.
4. Move Nisus Writer Pro from your Downloads folder to your Applications folder.
That should do it. Please let me know if you have any questions or continue to have troubles.

Thanks guys
I downloaded the zip, skipped the installer, dragged it in
it now works
BUT
the icon in the dock remains the same, a sad pale nisus logo with a slash through it
I can live with it, but it depresses me.

That's progress! It sounds like the alias in the Dock is broken. Try this:
1. Right-click the icon to bring up the contextual menu.
2. Choose the command Options > Remove From Dock.
3. Now drag the Nisus Writer Pro app icon from your Applications folder into the Dock to create a new alias.
