Selecting cels in a table
Selecting cels in a table
I frequently want to select just some of the cells in a column, always adjoining ones, for some particular formatting, perhaps highlight, change of font, &c. How does one do this, please ? I have tried following the instructions in the manual, but the result is always that the entire column is selected.
Re: Selecting cels in a table
I guess I don't see the difficulty. But then I've never consulted the manual on this
Click in one cell. Then hold <Shift> and click in another cell. This will select the span including those two cells. You can extend using shift with the arrow keys.
Shift-Command-A and Option-Command-A work to select whole columns and whole rows respectively.

The easiest and fastest way is to click in a cell and press and hold down the left mouse button while you drag. For non-contiguous selection, one can additionally press and hold down the Command key.
