Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could help me to set-up the Arabic font so that I can start typing in Arabic. I have changed the language setting in the application but for some reason most of the "Arabic Fonts" appear in Latin letters. I haven't the slightest clue how to go about in getting Nisus to accept Non-Latin letters. The Hebrew doesn't work either. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you.
Can't get Arabic to work on Nisus Pro
Re: Can't get Arabic to work on Nisus Pro
You have to set up Arabic also from:
System Preferences=>International=>Language (click 'Edit List...' and tick عربي)
and
System Preferences=>International=>Input Menu (tick Arabic Keyboard Unicode)
And also tick 'Show input menu in menu bar'
You can add other languages/scripts from the same pane.

I have done what you said but still no luck. For some reason the Arabic fonts like Baghdad do not work on Nisus pro. Any suggestions??
Re: Can't get Arabic to work on Nisus Pro
Enable an Arabic keyboard layout in OS X.
1. Open System Preferences -> International.
2. Switch to Input Menu tab.
3. Check Arabic-QWERTY or Arabic (or Arabic-PC if you are running Leopard).
4. You'd better check "Show input menu in menu bar" too.
Then, swich to Nisus Writer Pro.
1. Open Preferences -> Languages.
2. Click "More...".
3. Check "Arabic" (or one of Arabic locales).
4. Click "OK".
5. Select Arabic from the list on the right of the Langauges Pref.
6. Set the "Secondary Font" to your favourite Arabic font, e.g. Baghdad*.
7. Set "Switch Keyboard" to "Switch to chosen keyboard" and select your favourite Arabic keyboard layout*.
8. Close Preferences.
(* You can use other configurations but those of the steps 6 and 7 would be good for most of users, I think.)
Open a new document, select "Arabic" from the submenu of Format:Language, from the flag menu at the status bar or from the Language palette and type as you like.
You don't need adding Arabic in the Lanaguage tab of the International Pref pane. It affects only the priority of the language used in application GUI, e.g. menu command names.
