disaster with nisus pro

Hello,

I sent thid letter to Nisus support a week ago and never got an answer, can somone help me?

I sent you this message on December 28th and never got an answer! I am sending it again with the hope to get your attention, don't you think it a serious enough matter to get your help?!
I am very disappointed to say the least.

1. After installing Nisus Pro update 1.2 on 12.26.08 we also accidently throw to the trash a file that we didn't recognize, but on which it was written that throwing this file would result in losing some necessary functions (this file divided itself into many files all with the word Macro in it).

2. I worked on my book and when I opened it a day after the whole book was in gibberish.

3. I tried to open it as a new file and when it didn't work I threw the old Nisus away and downloaded it from your web site on 12.28.08.

4. After reinstalling - the same problem was still there.

5. But after installing the fresh Nisus and opening and opening a file on which I didn't do work lately I found that the file was OK.

What do I do in order to recover my book, on which I did work before installing the new Nisus.

P.S I want to stress the fact that before the catastrophe I installed Nisus Pro update 1.2 as I told you in section 1.

You are forgetting that it is vacation time in the US.. people are coming back to work only this week.

Ruchama is right, we've largely been on holiday over the past two weeks, what with Christmas/Hanukkah and New Years. We're just getting back to work full time now, so likely customer support hasn't even seen your email yet. Sorry for any trouble that's caused you.

What version of Nisus Writer were you using prior to the 1.2 update? Were you using Nisus Writer Classic or an older version of Pro? Do you have the exact name(s) of the files? It sounds likely that the files were simply old macros, which would be unrelated to any file translation issue you may experience.

Is your book an old Classic Nisus Writer file? Had you previously opened the file in Pro without trouble?

I'm not sure I entirely understand. The file that is okay is not your book, correct? So your book is still opening as gibberish? Would you be able to send a copy of your book to me for inspection? If so, please send it to the address below. Please be sure to send a copy of your book that at one point opened properly, eg: a file that was not saved by the new Pro you are having trouble with. Thanks.
