Auto hide dock upon launch?

I am trying to get the dock to autohide upon launching Nisus. I've tried editing the plist by adding:
<key>LSUIPresentationMode</key>
<integer>1</integer>

The dock automatically hides when Nisus is launched, but after Nisus loads everything it needs to load to open and the new document page appears, the dock pops back up. Any ideas? Really trying to not have to manually toggle the dock hide and unhide feature for my apps.
