Hi,
I'm shocked at how easy it was, using Nisus Writer 2, to join a large amount of separate HTML files, give them an order, and convert them into a PDF file with initial ToC and bookmarks in the sidebar.
1) I used the Join Files macro to join all separate HTML files into a single Nisus RTF file.
2) I moved the text cursor into an H1-level paragraph.
3) I created an Heading 1 paragraph style, using the "Create Paragraph Style Based On The Selection" command, and then including it into the ToC.
4) I used the Select All command (from the 'a' menu in the lower windows border) to select all H1-level paragraphs in the text.
5) I applied the Heading 1 paragraph style to all selected H1-level paraphs in the text.
6) With the Heading 1 paragraphs shown in the Navigator, I reorganized the whole document.
7) Exporting to PDF generated the complete file I described in the beginning.
It's that easy!
Paolo
