I am working on a document that was originally created in MS Word, and the PC version at that. Instead of re-typing everything I opened up MS Word (for mac) and saved the document as an RTF. I then opened it in Nisus and started working. Almost all of of the document was properly converted, saving me a ton of time. As an aside, the only things that didn't properly convert were items that are Windoze-based, specifically items with the .emf extension.
But I digress.
There is some extraneous flotsam in the document. For example, all text boxes have padding set to 9. I'm sure there are others but that's the first thing that comes to my mind. Oh, and I have some extra, random lines that I can't seem to delete. When I turn on "Show Invisibles" I don't see any code indicating what the line is. Here are two screen caps with the lines highlighted in yellow. Although both screen caps show that a <Page Break> is "associated" with these lines, if I delete the <Page Break> the line remains. So, back to my supposition, there is some hidden code that is creating the lines.
Any ideas on how I can delete this? BTW, these lines don't appear in the original MS Word document (PC or mac)

To clarify, by lines I don't mean carriage returns but blank lines.
And I can't click or select these lines.

Re: Extra black lines after conversion from MS Word
I figured it out myself.
The problem was random Border Lines in MS Word that did some weird things.
I guess the Border Lines are "converted" to PARAGRAPH BORDERS. With a little effort, I was able to figure out which paragraph border was causing the line, either all the way across the page or part way across the page.

Thanks for the update, I'm glad you figured out wherefrom the lines were coming.
