Ignore Rich Text Commands

What’s the purpose of the Ignore Rich Text Commands check box in the Open dialog box? If I forget to uncheck it, the file opens as a bunch of garble. How is that useful? Can I disable the “feature”?

The option is there in case a person needs to look at the raw data in a file. It's useful in cases where you want to edit the codes/data that are used to produce formatted text. For example, you can open HTML files using this option in order to edit the underlying HTML tags. I'm sorry, but there's no way to hide the option so it's no longer visible.

We've identified a bug in the recently released Pro 2.1 update the triggers this option to be incorrectly checkmarked by default for some file types. We'll get that fixed soon. In the meantime you'll have to make sure to uncheck this option– sorry for the inconvenience.
