On my computer, the Nisus Writer User Guide is accessible as a PDF document from the Help menu, but it is very slow to load completely. After a few seconds the spinning beach ball appears, and it does not disappear until about 20 seconds after the initial call.

That sounds like an issue with your computer, or at least the software you're using to view the PDF. Are you using Apple's Preview app? On my Mac, which admittedly has a different configuration, it takes just a few seconds to load and show the PDF.

If the PDF continues to be a problem for you, we also have an online user guide as a set of web pages.

Oh and one other tip: version 3 lets you search through the user guide via the Help menu. Apple's search box there will search not only menu command names from inside the app, but now also our online user guide.
