This is an excellent, user-friendly, reasonably intuitive WP prog - there's lots to like in it. But sadly, it lacks a crucial feature for group working: the "track changes" tools that we've got used to in Word. It's often necessary to draft something and circulate it to colleagues for their revisions, and this feature makes it easy to follow who has made what changes. So unless I'm missing something, I have to revert to Word.
I also find it useful to have the drawing tools in Word, although I don't use them often - when I do want them, they're handy. It's sometimes easier to add drawn features (eg arrows, circles etc) within a doc than to import graphics from another prog.
This isn't a criticism of Nisus: it's a great WP prog at a very keen price - great value for money. And if ever these features are added, I'll be trying it again, but meantime, sadly - despite lots of good things in Nisus Pro - I'm now about to uninstall.

I understand your decision, but I wonder why you make the proclamation? I never think to do this and wonder if there is something I am missing. Like I am looking to buy a clock radio, I am going to look at Radio Shack and will go to Target. I will look at Emerson brand and Colby, as well as a few others.
I would never think to write an email to all the people I decide not to use, should I be doing this?

I am intrigued though -- does your whole office use Mac with Word? Can Word on Mac read PC Word 2007 files?

The problem, of course, is whether this is included in RTF or is a proprietary MS thing in Word. While tracking changes would be useful in NW, it would be 20 times more useful if the NW tracking could show up in MS Word and Word tracking could show up in NW.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before, could you create a 'tracking formatting' and assign it to F13 and when you get to where you want to say:

you click F13 and type... You would also need a short cut back to your normal type style

Upon hearing about Nisus I was dearly hoping to get rid of Word (a bloated difficult app. at best) Unfortunately given my need for the track changes capability in Word I have to keep it. @#$%^&*(*&^%!!!!!
Is there any possible way that Nisus track's changes in a document? If not is that capacity possible to be make available in a future edition of Nisus? If track changes is available or is added to Nisus I will switch to Nisus in a nanosecond! However at this point my coauthors and I need this capacity so Damn it I am stuck with Word!

Psirx, I'm pretty sure that one day you will get your track changes feature in NWP. It's been a popular request since fairly early in the NWX release cycle, Nisus must by now be well aware how much it is desired by users. It just seems that people's cries for footnotes, endnotes, ToC and indexing were even more plaintive than those crying out for change tracking. Now that they have their features surely it's only a matter of time until change tracking gets a look in (along with multiple windows per document and mail merge hopefully). In the meantime Apple's Pages supports change tracking/comments quite well (including exchanging them with Word) and it often does a better job of reading hairy Word docs than Nisus. No one should have to use Word.
